1. I forgot to switch my phone's time from 24 hour setting to 12 hour setting - so it didn't go off when it should have! Luckily I woke up at 9:10 and ran my way to meet my Swedish friends Sandra and Louise who live not too far from me, and we walked the rest of the way to campus - getting there just before 10! Whew!
2. We're having a bit of an issue about lunch because all of our paperwork said that the university would be providing us with it and now they're saying that's not the case. Of course none of us have that in the budget - but I plan to appeal with all my paperwork in hand!!
3. We're all finally and officially registered with University of Chichester with our student Ids (with LOVELY pictures... not).
4. We've all picked up nice postcards so be expecting them soon! I even bought stamps already! Go me! haha!
5. At our meeting this morning we went over when and where we have classes which is QUITE a relief. I'll only have classes Tuesday through Thursday! Four day weekends!!! YAY! Here's the schedule!
Tuesdays: 10am-12pm: Professional Studies
1pm-3pm: Becoming a Writer
Wednesdays: unsure of time - Comparative Education
Thursdays: 1pm-3pm Language and Literacy
6. So I had a bit of a debacle with the bus today. There are two buses that I can take from downtown or campus to home. One is the 700 and the other is the Star One. I took the 700 yesterday because I can tell where I am the whole time. The only problem with it is that it leaves me still about 10 minutes of walking to do - which is obviously not a problem unless you're carrying heavy bags like I was today. So, because of my bags, I decided to try the Star 1 which takes me just around the corner from my house. WELL I was unaware that you had to press the STOP button for the bus to well, stop... just because they look more like emergency stops to me! So I passed maybe three bus stops beyond mine before I realized this, finally got off and had to walk ALLLL the way around back to the main road because there aren't any connecting roads in the neighborhoods. WHOOSH! So I had to walk the same amount of time with my heavy bags anyway. haha!
7. Last night I went out for the first time and got myself a drink at the bar (woot!) It was called Pimm and lemonade (which is apparently not an American's idea of lemonade but seltzer water with lemon in it...) and it was DELICIOUSSS and I spent too much money on it but ohwell! We're going out tonight to the student union and then perhaps out clubbing though I'm not so sure how long I'll really hold out. I'm still a bit jet-lagged!
I think that's about it for now, it's almost time for dinner!
Love and miss you all!! xoxo
P.S. Send me money for Christmas when it comes... a drink is 8 pounds in Sweden!!!!!!!!! GEEZ!
Here's the Americans and the Swedes loving Hotham Park across from uni for lunch!
My lovely little room!!!! Cute huh?
Love the bus story - sounds hauntingly familiar!! :)
